Editor’s Notes

Greetings Dear Readers,

Welcome to the March, 2019 issue. To accompany Jay Miller's review of Stuart Ross's chapbook Espesantes, there are four poems of longing, living, wandering, and remembering. I hope you enjoy the issue.

Are you longing for poetry while you wait for spring to come? Good news: VERSeFest, Ottawa's annual poetry festival, begins soon. With 80 poets from Iceland, Scotland, Ireland, USA, Canada over six days, it's going to be an excellent opportunity to hear some great poetry and meet poets. Tickets and passes are available at VERSeFEST.ca. Shortly before the festival's start, the City of Ottawa's new poet laureates will be announced at an event on March 23.

Can you live without books? I didn't think so. It's second-hand book sale season, with forthcoming sales coming up by the Friends of the Ottawa Public Library, Muchor School and more.

Does your writing wander off course? Attend one of the meetings of Canadian Authors Association, Ottawa Independent Writers, Capital Crime, Editors Association of Canada, Canadian Book Binders Association and Ottawa Romance Writers for tips, tricks and advice on writing and publishing.

Do you want to hear and remember great stories? Check out the various storytelling events from Ottawa Storytellers and share your own.

All of these events and meetings are on the Bywords.ca events calendar.
