Editor's Notes

Greetings Dear Readers,

February's poems celebrate silence and bemoan urban obstacles. They tell simple lies and enumerate the joys of actually being. I hope you enjoy the issue.

I write these notes on the fourteenth of the month, and this month's notes happen to fall on Valentine's Day, a Hallmark holiday, but we can all use a reminder of the importance of love, and care for others.

With this in mind, I wish to celebrate our diligent and dedicated selection committee who read between thirty and sixty poems every month. One of our longest serving readers is Kemisha Newman who joined in 2005, followed by JC Sulzenko and Carol A. Stephen who joined in 2009. I'm grateful that Kemisha, JC and Carol continue to be part of the team and appreciate the work that all our volunteer editors have done over the years. You can find out who makes up our current selection committee by going to the "About Bywords" section of the site.

Thanks to our selection committee this month:

Jesse Aubin
Dan Boland
Chris Johnson
Sarah Kabamba
Andrew Lafleche

Kemisha Newman

Carol A. Stephen
JC Sulzenko
