Greetings dear readers,

February's issue features poems of grief, rain, peonies, wax, black walnuts, ink and old recipes. I hope you enjoy the issue. Thanks to this month's contributors.

We're deep into winter now but the light is lingering with the hopes that spring is not far away. Numerous groundhogs in various cities were polled, and as usual, the results were not definitive. One way to add a little spring to your outlook is to read and listen to poetry.

• Visit the Ottawa Public Library and take out a few poetry books.
• Go to an indie bookstore, such as Perfect Books or Librairie du Soleil to purchase collections.
• You can subscribe to Canthius or Arc Poetry magazines.
• You can attend a reading, such as the Tree Reading Series or In Our Tongues.
• On bad weather days, you can stay indoors and can listen to and watch poetry through Brick Books' audio/visual hub, the Brickyard.
• And of course, you can read Bywords.ca's poetry every month.
