Editor’s Notes

Dear Readers,

I'm writing to you on the coldest Valentine's Day in my memory. This month's issue features five poems to warm you. Please enjoy them. And remember that the deadline for sending poetry is the 15th of each month. Read the guidelines on the site and send your poems. Don't forget to include a cover letter with your mailing address and a short biography in the third person.

Please take a look at the Bywords.ca calendar of literary and spoken word events, which is full of activities to warm the heart and the brain. Of particular note is the upcoming VERSeFest, Ottawa's annual poetry festival, which takes place from March 15 to March 20, 2016. Buy your tickets and your passes as soon as possible and enjoy the breadth and depth of poetry coming your way.

Thanks to our selection committee this month:

Robert Martin Evans

If you have questions, comments, suggestions or a flask full of spiced rum, please e-mail me at amanda@bywords.ca.

If you see me at a reading, please stop by and say hi.

And to quote Shelley, "O Wind, If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?"

warmly,
Amanda Earl
