Editor's Notes
Greetings Dear Readers,
Today, the day our issues go live, is my 61st birthday. I am forever grateful to all the readers, contributors, selection committee members, advisory board, funders, event organizers and supporters of Bywords.ca. I love being part of this literary community and doing my small part in helping it to thrive. I couldn’t ask for a better birthday present than poems by poets who submit their work, and a cornucopia of amazing literary events to choose from every month. Thank you!
This month’s issue celebrates art that is just out of reach, marbles that sparkle in the light of memory, the importance of living for today, and ladybugs. I hope you enjoy the issue.
Readers, we had the most glorious celebration earlier this month when the Ottawa International Writers Festival hosted the John Newlove Poetry Award. Go to the Newlove link here and read all about it. You can even see the video recording of the reading. Thank you to all the participants, and to the Ottawa International Writers Festival for taking good care of us as always.
Don’t forget to purchase a copy of Nnadi Samuel’s chapbook, Biblical Invasions B.C. For the first time this year, we are also offering the opportunity to purchase a digital copy. Visit the Store and pick up his chapbook today!
Thanks to our selection committee this month:
