Little Birds Poetry is an inclusive editing workshop for poets and writers at any stage in their careers. Bring your original short stories and/or poems and edit them round-table style, in preparation for submission. We meet once to twice a month for three hours a session. Ottawa Romance Writers Association

The workshops are not always specific to romance. They cover the business of writing, craft, writer’s life, and research. Usually free for members and $20 for guests from 2:30-4:30pm (depending on workshop, see listings for details). Seating is limited, reserve your spot at Eventbrite.

OIW gathers every third Tuesday of the month at the Hintonburg Community Center,
1064 Wellington st. W, Ottawa. Meetings begin at 6:30 pm, with presentations starting
at 7 pm, lasting until 9 pm. Complimentary coffee and snacks are always at the party.
There is ample parking at the back of the building. Entry is free to members, and a
nominal fee of $10 for non-members, applicable toward a membership if they should
choose to join.

Youth Speak Mentorship Program https://biblioottawalibrary.ca/en/event/youth-speak-mentorship-program-2 The Urban Legends Poetry Collective proudly presents the Youth Speak Mentorship Program. This program is intended for students 22 and under to have a place to explore all aspects of spoken word. From poetry to storytelling to rap, we will have facilitators from all walks of life to help you develop your craft and explore yourself through the arts. Drop-in anytime between 5 and 8 PM.
