Editor’s Notes

Greetings dear readers,

Spring is finally upon us and in celebration, the May issue is now on line. In the issue, you will find a review of Ayeesha Chaterjee's Bottles and Bones by Manahil Bandukwala and three poems by Sanita Fejzic, Dalton Derksen and Atiya Hussain. I hope you enjoy May's poetic offerings. They go well with tulips.

While late spring and summer are quieter times for literary events, please keep consulting the events calendar to see what's in store. The Tree Reading Series has recently moved to Happy Goat in Hintonburg/Little Italy and will continue its program until June 12. Sawdust, I believe, will continue over the summer. In/Words will resume in September, and there are various mixed open mics where you can try out your poetry, music and interpretative dance. Arc Poetry Magazine will offer more of its Arc Walks in May and later this summer. The Ottawa Small Press Book Fair will take place in June. If you are interested in events that aren't officially for poetry, take a look at the Ottawa Storytellers' events, go to a comic book jam, or play a Wednesday night game of Scrabble. There are lots of great literary, spoken word, storytelling and nonfiction events in the City.
