Editor’s Notes

Greetings Dear Readers,

This month's issue features two poems by contributors previously unpublished by Bywords. I hope you enjoy this introduction to their work and we'll be hearing more from them in the future.

As winter slowly melts away, the literary season is beginning to bloom. March 15 marks the beginning of VERSeFest, Ottawa's week long annual poetry festival. With sixty poets in six days from Iceland, Ireland, Norway, England, USA and Canada, including but not limited to the Nation's Capital, this is going to be a jam-packed and multi-faceted festival.

A month later, the spring edition of the Ottawa International Writers Festival will bring us fiction, poetry, politics, history, science, medicine, philosophy, good beer and camaraderie.

Visit the Bywords.ca calendar for more details and links to further information from OIWF and VERSeOttawa.

Before the next issue is out, we'll also see the beginning of National Poetry Month in April. Keep your eyes peeled to the Bywords.ca calendar for updates on upcoming readings, signings and other poetic shenanigans to celebrate poetry in April.

Thanks to our selection committee this month:
