k.l. mckay

Originally from the North Shore of Lake Superior, K. L. is currently completing her MA in Comparative Literature at the University of Alberta. She has attended writing workshops at the Universities of Ottawa and Alberta, and Stuart Ross' poetry 'boot camp'. Recent publications include a feature in Ottawater 2.0 (2007), and a chapbook, Barefoot Through the Pickybushes (2005) through the University of Ottawa Friday Circle imprint. She has read for the Single Onion (2006), and Olive (2005) Reading Series. Once a week for three years, she co-hosted (with folk musician Trevor Tchir) the Café Nostalgica Poetry and Music Open Stage on the University of Ottawa campus. She is the founding editor of Spire Poetry Poster (since 2003), and a member of the Olive Reading Series Collective. She will be attending the 2007 Banff Centre for the Arts Writing Studio program.
