John Morris was born and raised on a farm in Glengarry County, and has lived and worked in Ottawa since 1980. Following a 38-year career in business, he self-published “Loose Hay: Poems of Glengarry” in 2018. The book was inspired by the landscape, family life and traditions of that county (in Eastern Ontario), as well as by John’s years raising a family in Ottawa. More recently, he was the winner of the first and third prizes for poetry in the 2021 National Capital Writer’s Contest (NCWC), both poems appearing in the anthology “Building Community”, sponsored by the Canadian Author’s Association (Ottawa Chapter). John is a graduate of Concordia University.
