John Morris

Following a 38-year career in business, John Morris self-published “Loose Hay: Poems of Glengarry” in 2018. He was the winner of the first and third prizes for poetry in the 2021 National Capital Writer’s Contest (NCWC), for “The Curved Twigs” and “A New Skin”. His poem “Prayers for My Father” appeared in Bywords.ca in December 2021. Two other poems – “A Heron on The Road” and “The Blue Egg” – won a Judge’s Choice Award and an Honorable Mention, respectively, in competitions sponsored by the Ontario Poetry Society in 2021 and 2022. John is a graduate of Concordia University. He has lived in Ottawa since 1980.
