Editor’s Notes

Greetings Readers,

This month's issue features three poets: Sylvia Adams, Jesse Patrick Ferguson and Margaret Malloch Zielinski. In the issue you will also find Mary Lee Bragg's review of Susan McMaster's latest poetry book by Black Moss Press, "Crossing Arcs" and Catharine Carroll's report on the summer Bywords reading that took place last month. Hope you enjoy the issue.

This month I extend an invitation to all of you who are readers and supporters of Bywords to sponsor or join the Ottawa Writers & Friends Team doing the Walk for Life on September 19. The walk provides funding for the agencies who help raise awareness and support those with AIDS/HIV. This will be Bywords' seventh year of participation in the walk. We have raised a significant amount of money and many of our selection committee members have taken part each year. This cause along with our fundraising efforts for the Cornerstone Women's Shelter through the January reading "Bywords Warms the Night" are important initiatives. We want to show city residents that we care about our community. That we are all part of this community. And we want to support causes that help our community. If you would like to sponsor the team or walk with us, please click on the link below:

And thank you to all those who have submitted poems, photographs and art this month.
