Editor’s Notes

Dear Readers,

The weather’s gorgeous; there’s a full slate of literary events, and the poems this month are full of September’s beauty, cobwebs, the late Mexican sun, and even a cold January morning. Go play in this hill of coloured leaves and poems.

See you at the Aids Walk For Life on Saturday, September 24, the Ottawa International Writers Festival and a host of other activities this month.

Stay tuned for the announcement of the 2005 John Newlove Poetry Award Winner, or better yet, come to the reading and meet the winner and honorouable mentions. Listen to the music of the splendid Lee Hayes. You’ll be able to purchase the 2004 Newlove award recipient’s chapbook, Dust Free: a collection of poems by Norma Elliot.

Fall is finally here. Let’s celebrate.

Thanks to this month’s selection committee:

Jesse Ferguson, Joe Goski, Megan McGrath, Kemisha Newman, Sarah Ruffolo, Betty Warrington-Kearsley, Genevieve Wesley, and Christine Zadorozny.
