Editor’s Notes

Greetings Readers,

This issue features poems by three poets and rob mclennan's review of Mary-Lou Rowley's "Unus Mundus" (Anvil Press, 2013). Hope you enjoy.

We are gearing up for the tenth annual John Newlove Poetry Award to take place at the Ottawa International Writers Festival on October 25 at Knox Presbyterian Church at 9pm, following the launches of two of Ottawa's stellar poets David O'Meara and Stephen Brockwell. Hope you can join us. It's free. There are lots of great poetry, fiction, science, politics and food events happening at the upcoming Ottawa International Writers Festival. Check the Bywords.ca events calendar for details about the festival and other upcoming events.

Thanksgiving weekend was the date of the Ottawa Small Press Fair, now in its 19th year. Bywords.ca was one of the many vendors. We sold numerous pre-launch copies of Jenna Jarvis' chapbook, "The Tiger with the Crooked Mouth," sold out of Sean Moreland's "Lupercalia" & sold several copies of other chapbooks in our John Newlove Poetry Award Series. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table.

Our Bywords.ca team at Ottawa's AIDS/HIV Walk for Life on September 15 raised over $500. Thanks to everyone who sponsored the team.
