The Cushion
Yesterday her beauty
was soft and I whispered
into her ear that "you are
smitten-gorgeous".
Swathed in terra-cotta
with a tinge of gold
she was flute music
played on a bamboo reed,
silky as zircon Buddha beads
tumbled along the Ottawa River,
sweet as Sri Lankan
Dampara-mango pulp
and round in parts as a pink
Royal Gala apple.
She was a womanly stalk
hoisting a blooming pink
Tahitian gardenia that collects
my 3 o`clock morning dew drops
wiped not by my kisses
but by the morning sun.
Yesterday she looked amazing
and I know she would be
the same again on a Thursday
soft and smitten-gorgeous
perfumed with a fragrance
of love, waiting silently
a meditation-cushion away
making me starved.
