Editor's Notes

Greetings Dear Readers,

Happy National Poetry Month! This month’s issue features caterpillars, swamps, aortas, and thorns. I hope you enjoy the issue.

How are you celebrating National Poetry Month? How about attending a walk with local poets? Check out Susan Johnston’s #WriteOttawa event on Saturday, April 19. Or taking a poetry workshop with Deborah-Anne Tunney through the Canadian Authors Association National Capital Region chapter? Or the House of Anansi Poetry Bash put on by the Ottawa International Writers Festival or a reading on Zoom featuring yours truly, Margo LaPierre, Lisa Richter and Chuqiao Yang? Or purchasing second-hand poetry books at the Mammoth Book Sale run by the friends of the Ottawa Public Library or picking up new books on Ottawa’s Indie Bookstore Day? There are so many ways to celebrate poetry, including writing your own and submitting it to Bywords.ca. Guidelines are on the site. However you mark NPM25, I hope you have a month full of poetry.
